If these qualities resonate with you, Siemens Energy India Limited is looking for a responsible, professional, and self-motivated individual to join the Gas Turbine R&D team in Gurgaon as a Hot Gas Path - Turbine Aerodynamics Engineer. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced global product development environment. As an aerodynamic turbine designer, your role is pivotal in designing and optimizing turbine airfoils and diffusors to enhance turbine performance. Your responsibilities include designing and analyzing new components/airfoils, upgrading existing components, predicting component performance under varying conditions, providing customer support, and addressing non-conformance reports from manufacturing. You will utilize a range of tools and methods such as 1D, 2D, and 3D approaches to make informed decisions and find solutions for complex design tasks. Collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines is essential to develop a design that meets project requirements for performance, lifetime, and costs. Tasks also involve conceptual design, failure mode evaluation, root cause analysis, detailed aerodynamics analysis, report writing, and participation in key technical reviews. A deep understanding of fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics fundamentals is crucial for this role. Knowledge of Aeroelasticity/Aeromechanics, Heat Transfer, and structural integrity field is beneficial. Additionally, you will support manufacturing, qualification, and field-testing aspects post final design review to validate the product. Effective communication skills are essential for regular interaction with global teams. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with a focus on Aerodynamics, Fluid dynamics & Thermal Science. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Aerodynamics design & analysis of axial turbomachinery is required. Proficiency in CFD codes, meshing tools, optimization tools, CAD software, programming skills, and familiarity with FE codes and general-purpose FEA tools is expected. Experience in providing technical support to other functional areas, machine learning, SAP, and Teamcenter PLM is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, willingness to learn, effective communication, and alignment with organizational values are crucial for success in this role.
