Horticultural Procurement

As a Horticulturist Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to source, evaluate, and procure high-quality horticultural materials essential for landscaping and green infrastructure projects. You will be in charge of acquiring various items such as plants, trees, soil media, fertilizers, tools, and irrigation systems. Your role will require strong plant knowledge, familiarity with landscaping materials, vendor negotiation skills, and effective communication abilities. Additionally, having a basic understanding of contract and purchase order systems, proficiency in MS Office and ERP software, and the willingness to travel for nursery visits and vendor coordination are essential for success in this position. Key Responsibilities: - Source and evaluate high-quality horticultural materials - Procure plants, trees, soil media, fertilizers, tools, and irrigation systems - Negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality products - Communicate effectively with vendors regarding procurement needs - Maintain records of purchases and contracts - Collaborate with internal teams to meet landscaping requirements - Travel for nursery visits and vendor coordination as required - Ensure timely delivery of materials for infrastructure projects Qualifications Required: - Strong plant knowledge and familiarity with landscaping materials - Vendor negotiation and communication skills - Basic understanding of contract and purchase order systems - Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software - Willingness to travel for nursery visits and vendor coordination Please note that the job type for this position is full-time, and the work location is in person.
