We are seeking a highly skilled *Senior FHIR Technical Developer* with extensive experience integrating healthcare systems with EHRs, focusing on Epic. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of FHIR standards and protocols, including SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, and authorization workflows, along with hands-on experience developing and implementing FHIR-based solutions within complex healthcare environments. As a key technical leader, you will design, develop, and deploy interoperable healthcare solutions that enable seamless data exchange between EHRs and other healthcare systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop FHIR-based solutions, ensuring seamless interoperability with EHRs. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to translate business needs into technical solutions. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship on FHIR standards, EHR authentication workflows, and best practices. - Develop and refine integration strategies for connecting EHRs with external systems using FHIR APIs, including SMART on FHIR and CDS Hooks, with a particular focus on Epic. - Partner with EHR implementation teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational goals. - Lead implementation and configuration of FHIR interfaces within EHR vendor environments, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to FHIR integration with EHR vendors and other healthcare systems. - Stay informed on evolving FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability trends, incorporating emerging technologies into development designs. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). - Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, focusing on interoperability and integration. - Proven track record of developing and implementing FHIR-based solutions in healthcare environments. - Extensive experience with Epic EHR integration and authorization workflows, including familiarity with Epic’s APIs and integration methodologies. - Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, such as HL7, FHIR, and EDI. - Proficiency in Java programming is preferred. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills , capable of effectively collaborating and disseminating knowledge to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Relevant certifications such as HL7 FHIR Proficiency or Epic Certifications Show more Show less
