Job Description

1. Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Quality Establish and enforce standards for patient care and nursing practice across all units. Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives. Ensure evidence-based nursing practices are adopted and adhered to. Collaborate with medical and administrative leadership to align care goals. 2. Staffing, Recruitment & Workforce Management Oversee nurse staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient acuity and care standards. Develop and implement nurse recruitment, retention, and orientation programs. Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and ensure continuous feedback. Address staffing shortages, absenteeism, and attrition proactively. 3. Training, Education & Professional Development Organize in-service education, workshops, and CME programs for nursing staff. Promote competency-based training and continuous skill enhancement. Facilitate career progression and leadership grooming within the nursing cadre. Ensure all nurses maintain required licenses, certifications, and training (e.g., BLS, ACLS). 4. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and other accreditation standards. Maintain nursing documentation, audits, and protocols as per guidelines. Participate in internal audits, quality checks, and corrective actions. Ensure adherence to infection control policies and biomedical waste management. 5. Operational Management Supervise nursing activities across all departments (wards, ICU, OT, OPD, etc.). Optimize nursing workflows for efficiency and safety. Participate in budgeting, procurement of nursing supplies, and resource utilization. Manage grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary issues within the nursing team. 6. Patient Safety & Satisfaction Promote a patient-centered care culture across nursing services. Address patient and family concerns related to nursing services. Monitor nursing-related incident reports and implement preventive measures. Track and improve patient satisfaction scores related to nursing care. 7. Policy Formulation & Strategic Planning Develop and update nursing policies, SOPs, and care protocols. Participate in hospital management meetings and strategic decision-making. Align nursing goals with the hospitals mission, vision, and values. Contribute to emergency preparedness planning and disaster management protocols. 8. Interdepartmental Coordination Coordinate nursing services with medical, administrative, and support departments. Facilitate multidisciplinary rounds and ensure smooth care transitions. Support clinical research and nursing-led quality improvement initiatives.
