You are an Automation Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Your primary duties include designing and programming automated systems, developing PLC programs and HMI systems, collaborating with teams to identify automation opportunities, troubleshooting issues, conducting system tests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will be expected to maintain documentation, analyze processes for improvements, provide training to operators and maintenance personnel, and integrate automation systems with enterprise systems. To qualify for this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with proven experience in automation engineering and control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi), experience with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC), and a strong understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC) are essential. Additionally, knowledge of robotics, sensors, actuators, motion control systems, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities are required. Preferred qualifications for this position include experience with scripting languages like Python, C#, familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies, certifications in automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), and knowledge of safety standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI, NFPA 70E).
