As a Controls Software Engineer, your primary responsibility will involve developing standard controls software for PLC or other real-time controller platforms. Working within a team in the controls software development organization, you will collaborate with product management, application engineering, and customer service groups to deliver software solutions to our global customers. Your passion for excellence, ability to work within deadlines, teamwork skills, and technical proficiency are crucial for producing high-quality software. You will be expected to follow project plans, co-develop software releases, design controls based on physical layouts, and create well-structured, well-documented software tools. Your role will also encompass developing and testing software products, stabilizing/upgrading existing systems, and ensuring optimal system performance. Documentation, including design specifications and test documents, will be a key aspect of your work. Additionally, you will estimate development efforts, review engineering requirements, deliver technical presentations, and contribute to software standards development. Training regional product champions, participating in quality management processes, and complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations are integral parts of this role. Traveling for 5% to 15% of the time may be required.
