As a Rotating Equipment Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations by driving innovation on the Turbomechanica platform. Your main responsibilities will include monitoring and analyzing live customer plant data to identify equipment issues, troubleshooting complex problems in collaboration with experts, and supporting the development of assets on the Turbomechanica platform. You will work closely with the engineering team to enhance diagnostic capabilities, apply data-driven methods to improve machinery reliability, and provide expert guidance to customers on equipment diagnostics. Additionally, you will represent our technical leadership in customer engagements, collaborate with various teams to refine features and boost diagnostic accuracy, and lead efforts to streamline diagnostic processes and reporting practices. Your role will also involve contributing flexibly across various initiatives, reflecting the fast-paced and evolving environment of a startup. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and have 4-5 years of industrial experience with rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, gas turbines, and steam turbines. You must possess strong expertise in root cause analysis, fault detection, and troubleshooting, as well as a solid understanding of core engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, vibration analysis, and rotor dynamics. Familiarity with physics-based performance models and their integration with AI or data-driven models will be beneficial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in Python programming language and the ability to apply machine learning algorithms and data analytics to assess and enhance equipment performance. Experience with IoT platforms and real-time monitoring tools such as System 1, SCADA, DCS, or OSIsoft PI will be advantageous.
