Job Profile: MongoDB - DBA

Experience: 9 -18 yrs

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage MongoDB Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
• Responsible for providing dedicated offshore Database Administrator support for all MongoDB systems and general Database Administrator support tasks as required.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with stakeholders to understand database requirements and produce options/solutions.
• Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of MongoDB management including Database design, capacity management, security, backup & recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and automation.
• Ensure the performance and reliability of the MongoDB and NoSQL Database environment inclusive of both cloud and on-premises systems.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting for performance problems and query optimization.
• Work with project management, infrastructure, portfolio teams, and developers in coordinating system-wide updates, upgrades, and patch management.
• Proactively provide recommendations and coordinates the direction for the implementation of enhancements or changes that may involve custom design, optional software, and third-party products to improve the efficiency & effectiveness of the systems.
• Monitor and maintain performance metrics for systems.
• License management.
• Perform configuration, change management, and testing activities as required to support DevOps process.
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Conduct investigations for strategy studies, requirements specifications and feasibility studies
• identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and recommend new approaches, typically seeking to exploit technology components and/or fill technology gaps

Skill Set:

• 5+ years MongoDB Server Administration experience required
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Experience in conducting performance tuning, backup, recovery, scalability, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MongoDB or NoSQL
• Strong knowledge on Performance tuning of the databases
• Work closely with Appl team to understand what changes are coming in a build / patch / hotfix, do an impact analysis, finetune the queries if any.
• Database Health checks to be created and published to monitoring systems • Identify slow queries
• Replication lags
• Node Failures
• Index Usage patterns
• CPU Usage
• Memory Usage
• Locks
• No of connections
• And any other params which can be added as part of database health checks.
• Strong scripting experience - Unix/Shell Scripting, Python
• Experience with traditional SQL - preferably MSSQL Server - is a plus.
• Technical knowledge of Linux Windows based platforms
• Automate the process of deploying DB changes so that we can support this for a new build / patch / hotfi
