Senior L3 macOS Administrator
Jamf Pro (on-prem and cloud)
This role demands advanced troubleshooting, automation, and scripting abilities to ensure service excellence and compliance across diverse client infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Environment Management
- Manage
multi-tenant Jamf Pro
(both on-prem and cloud) and Microsoft Intune
environments for multiple clients. - Handle
client onboarding
, configuration, and deployment of macOS management policies and profiles. - Standardize and maintain
macOS baseline configurations
across client environments. - Ensure consistent policy enforcement, device compliance, and endpoint security per client SLAs.
MDM Platform Administration
- Design, implement, and maintain
MDM workflows
for provisioning, compliance, and patching. - Integrate MDMs with
Apple Business Manager (ABM)
for automated enrollment (DEP) and app distribution (VPP). - Manage
certificates, profiles, and device identity integrations
across client environments. - Troubleshoot MDM command failures, profile deployment issues, and device communication problems.
Application Packaging & Automation
- Develop, test, and maintain
macOS application packages (.pkg, .dmg, .app)
using Munki
, AutoPkg
, or Jamf Composer
. - Automate packaging, testing, and deployment pipelines via
GitHub Actions
or Azure DevOps
. - Maintain and version-control client-specific
software repositories
. - Build
post-install and remediation scripts
to enhance deployment reliability.
Scripting & Tooling
- Create
Bash, Zsh, and Python scripts
to automate configuration, deployment, and compliance checks. - Build custom tools or integrations for
reporting, remediation, and health monitoring
. - Leverage APIs from Jamf, Intune, and Munki to develop automation workflows.
- Implement CI/CD processes to automate updates and promote changes between client environments.
Operations & Escalation Support
- Act as
L3 escalation point
for macOS-related incidents, client escalations, and platform issues. - Participate in root cause analysis, problem management, and process improvement.
- Ensure adherence to
SLAs
, documenting and reporting any deviations with business justification. - Provide technical mentorship and guidance to L1/L2 support teams.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce client-specific
security baselines
, FileVault encryption, password, and compliance policies. - Implement and maintain
device attestation, inventory accuracy, and compliance reporting
. - Support vulnerability remediation and coordinate with security teams for compliance audits.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years
of overall IT experience with 10+ years
in enterprise macOS administration.- Proven experience managing
Jamf Pro (on-prem & cloud)
and Microsoft Intune
for macOS. - Expertise in
application packaging
, Munki
, and AutoPkg
automation. - Strong scripting experience in
Bash, Zsh, and Python
. - Hands-on experience integrating
Apple Business Manager (ABM)
and DEP workflows
. - Experience in
multi-tenant MSP environments
with multiple client MDMs and repositories. - Familiarity with
Git
, Azure DevOps
, or GitHub
for CI/CD and version control. - Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex cross-client issues.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with
