Provide strategic legal counsel to the leadership team on healthcare laws, regulatory risks, and business operations Oversee all contracts, agreements, MoUs, and NDAs related to patients, vendors, partnerships, and government agencies Ensure compliance with all applicable laws including Clinical Establishments Act, MCI/NMC regulations, Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Biomedical Waste Rules, etc. Manage medico-legal issues, including patient grievances, malpractice claims, and legal notices Represent the organization in legal proceedings, hearings, and negotiations Collaborate with external counsel and law firms when necessary Draft, review, and vet SOPs, policies, and internal governance mechanisms Guide HR and Admin on legal matters involving employee relations, labor law, and POSH compliance Conduct legal risk assessments and audits across departments Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare laws, data privacy norms (like HIPAA/GDPR), and evolving legal trends Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) if required, ensuring protection of patient health information Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in Law (LLB); Masters (LLM) preferred 10-15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in healthcare or life sciences In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, licensing, and hospital operations Strong understanding of contracts, litigation, compliance, and corporate law Excellent analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills Strong leadership with the ability to influence senior stakeholders High ethical standards and integrity Preferred: Experience working with NABH/JCI-accredited hospitals or pharma setups Familiarity with digital health, telemedicine laws, and IT Act compliance Exposure to insurance, medico-legal arbitration, or M&A due diligence in healthcare
