Responsibilities of the Lead Software Engineer include coaching and mentoring junior engineers, promoting engineering best practices, collaborating with product managers, and engaging with stakeholders to develop technical plans that align with key business objectives. The successful candidate will have expertise in Large Scale Distributed Systems, Search technologies like Elasticsearch, High Scale Messaging Systems such as Kafka, Real-Time Job Queues, Python, Django, Relational Databases like PostgreSQL, Data Modeling, DB Query Optimization, Caching, Redis, Celery, CI/CD, GCP, and Kubernetes. Furthermore, the Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing the technical roadmap to scale Level AI's technology stack, constructing highly scalable and low latency distributed systems for real-time data processing, ensuring operational excellence for critical services, and staying abreast of the latest technologies to effectively apply them within Level AI's tech ecosystem. Qualifications for this role include a B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/PhD from tier 1/2 Engineering institutes, substantial experience in Backend and Infrastructure roles with a top technology company, hands-on experience with large scale databases, high scale messaging systems, and real-time Job Queues, familiarity with navigating complex code-bases and architectural patterns, and a track record of providing technical leadership to other team members. Desirable skills for the Lead Software Engineer position include experience with Google Cloud, Django, Postgres, Celery, Redis, and some exposure to AI Infrastructure.
