As a Data and Software Engineer at Barclays, you will be responsible for building and maintaining systems that collect, store, process, and analyze data. This includes developing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security of all data. To succeed in this role, you should have experience in developing responsive web interfaces and complex UI using technologies like HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and Angular 16+. Proficiency in Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS/SCSS is essential. Additionally, experience with visualization tools like HiCharts, D3.js, or Chart.js is highly valued. Candidates with a deep understanding of design systems, component libraries, and front-end architecture will be preferred. Experience in designing for AI/ML platforms, data-heavy dashboards, or GenAI interfaces using tools like Figma or Adobe XD is desirable. In this position based in Pune, your key responsibilities will include building and maintaining data architecture pipelines, designing data warehouses and data lakes, developing processing and analysis algorithms, and collaborating with data scientists on machine learning models. Depending on the leadership level, you may be expected to contribute to strategy setting, resource planning, and policy management. If in a leadership role, you should demonstrate leadership behaviors such as listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others. For individual contributors, being a subject matter expert, guiding technical direction, and training less experienced specialists will be crucial.
