JOB SUMMARY The Civil & Structural Design Lead will be responsible for all civil and structural engineering design activities across substation, solar, and wind projects, including foundations, structural systems, site grading, hydrology, drainage, and solar tracker structures. The position requires strong technical leadership to guide internal teams and external consultants in delivering high-quality, technically compliant, and constructible designs aligned with Hexa Climate’s engineering and safety standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Substation Civil & Structural Design • Lead civil and structural design for AIS / GIS substations (33 kV–400 kV) including transformer, equipment, gantry, and tower foundations. • Design control buildings, roads, cable trenches, stormwater systems, and switchyard grading. • Prepare and review foundation drawings, RCC detailing, layout plans, and drainage schemes. • Coordinate with electrical, structural, and geotechnical teams to finalize structure elevations and clearances. • Review vendor drawings for control buildings, steel structures, and precast elements. • Ensure compliance with IS 456, IS 800, IS 3370, IS 875, PGCIL, and REC standards. • Prepare BOQs, design basis reports, and technical specifications for EPC tender documentation. B. Solar Project Civil & Structural Design • Lead civil design of Solar PV plants including module mounting structures (MMS) — both fixed-tilt and single-axis solar tracker systems — ensuring compliance with IS 875 (Wind), IEC 62817, and manufacturer load data. • Perform foundation design for trackers and inverter stations, optimizing concrete and steel consumption based on geotechnical parameters. • Plan and design grading, contouring, and cut-fill optimization for large solar sites using topographical and LiDAR data. • Carry out hydrology analysis and drainage design, ensuring adequate stormwater management, contour alignment, and soil erosion control. • Develop access road layouts, control building foundations, stormwater channels, and boundary wall details. • Review vendor drawings for PEB / RCC structures, inverter stations, and tracker foundations. • Prepare civil BOQs, RFP technical sections, and design data sheets for solar EPC packages. C. Wind Project Civil & Structural Design • Design and review Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) foundations (raft, pile, or hybrid) considering site-specific wind loads, soil properties, and OEM standards. • Develop designs for access roads, crane pads, switchyard areas, and O&M buildings. • Coordinate geotechnical investigations, soil stabilization plans, and drainage systems for hilly or complex terrains. • Oversee civil design of 33 kV pooling substations, including structural, road, and drainage components. D. Site Development & Hydrology • Perform hydrological and contour analysis to define grading levels and optimize drainage patterns for solar, wind, and substation sites. • Design stormwater drainage systems, culverts, and retention ponds ensuring protection against flooding and erosion. • Prepare cut-fill balance reports to achieve cost-effective and sustainable earthworks. • Evaluate surface runoff, rainwater discharge capacity, and ensure compliance with MoEF&CC / CWC guidelines. E. Coordination & Quality • Interface with Electrical, Mechanical, and Survey teams for interdisciplinary coordination. • Review and approve vendor / consultant designs, GTPs, and construction drawings. • Conduct value engineering studies to optimize cost, time, and constructability. • Support project teams during construction and site audits, providing design clarifications as needed.
