We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HEMM Head to lead our fleet operations and maintenance in a large-scale Opencast coal mining project in Jharkhand . The ideal candidate will ensure equipment uptime, cost-effective maintenance, and strict adherence to safety standards. Manage the entire HEMM fleet: Excavators, Dozers, Dumpers, Drills, Graders, Water Sprinklers, Cranes, etc. Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. Monitor equipment availability, utilization, fuel efficiency, and maintenance cost . Coordinate with OEMs for AMC, spares, technical audits, and warranty management. Lead a team of operators, fitters, mechanics, and supervisors. Ensure strict compliance with DGMS safety norms and mining regulations . Implement digital tools/ERP for equipment tracking and downtime analysis. Prepare daily/monthly reports for project management. Liaise with store and procurement teams for inventory planning and cost control. Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile Proven experience in managing large HEMM fleets in coal or mineral mining projects. Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, BEML, Tata-Hitachi, L&T, and Sandvik equipment. Familiarity with CMMS, SAP, or other maintenance software . Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis-handling skills. Should be ready to relocate to Jharkhand site

Role & responsibilities To lead the HEMM function for mining operations, ensuring optimal availability, utilization, safety, and maintenance of all heavy equipment used in limestone mining operations. The role is responsible for managing a team of engineers and technicians to ensure uninterrupted support to mining activities. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Planning: Lead, plan and execute all HEMM activities to support daily mining production targets. Optimize equipment usage and monitor machine-wise productivity and fuel efficiency. Coordinate with the Mines Operations team for equipment deployment based on mining plans. Maintenance Management: Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for HEMM. Ensure minimal equipment downtime by adhering to best maintenance practices. Supervise major repair and overhaul of machines in-house or through OEM support. Team Leadership: Lead a team of HEMM operators, technicians, and fitters. Impart regular training on safe equipment operation, maintenance skills, and troubleshooting. Conduct skill assessments and performance evaluations of the HEMM team. Inventory & Spares: Monitor consumption and availability of critical spares and consumables. Liaise with stores and procurement for timely availability of parts and materials. Maintain cost-effective inventory without compromising on availability. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all HEMM operations adhere to statutory safety standards and DGMS guidelines. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and safety toolbox talks for the HEMM crew. Investigate equipment-related incidents and implement preventive measures. Cost Control: Monitor and control maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and spares utilization. Propose cost-saving initiatives without impacting performance or reliability. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of equipment performance, maintenance history, and fuel usage. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Mines Head/Management. Participate in review meetings and audits as required. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of HEMM equipment (e.g., excavators, dumpers, dozers, wheel loaders, drill machines, etc.) Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and hydraulic systems. Hands-on experience with OEMs like Komatsu, CAT, BEML, L&T, Volvo, etc. Familiarity with mining equipment software, diagnostics, and maintenance systems. Excellent leadership, team management, and analytical skills. Educational Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech Mechanical / Automobile Engineering Additional certification in HEMM/maintenance management is an advantage. Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in HEMM maintenance in the mining sector. At least 5 years in a leadership role at a limestone mine for cement or mining industries.

Minimum 1520 years of experience in maintenance of HEMM, with at least 57 years in a leadership role. Strong technical knowledge of HEMM (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, BEML, Volvo, etc.) Hands-on experience with condition monitoring, hydraulic systems, engine diagnostics, and electrical systems. Experience in large-scale mining or construction projects preferred.
