1. Sample Collection & Handling Collect blood, urine, stool, sputum, and other biological samples. Label samples correctly and ensure proper storage/transport. Follow safety protocols while handling infectious materials. 2. Laboratory Testing Perform routine tests like CBC, LFT, RFT, lipid profile, blood sugar, etc. Conduct microbiology tests such as culture, sensitivity, and staining. Carry out pathology, hematology, biochemistry, and serology tests. 3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate laboratory instruments (analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges). Calibrate machines regularly to ensure accurate results. Report any malfunction or breakdown to the senior technician or supervisor. 4. Quality Control Maintain accuracy and reliability in test results. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs. 5. Record Keeping & Reporting Update test results in manual registers or LIS (Laboratory Information System). Prepare and submit daily reports to the doctor or lab in-charge. Ensure confidentiality of patient data. 6. Safety & Hygiene Follow infection control and biosafety guidelines. Dispose of biomedical waste as per norms. Maintain cleanliness of the laboratory area.
