Head of Web Design / Web Design Studio Lead

This role blends design craft, systems thinking, creative leadership, and hands-on mentoring. This is an opportunity to build a studio with the backing of a powerhouse agency and the freedom to shape the future of B2B web experiences.

Role Purpose

To lead and evolve Zensciences current web design practice into a world-class capability blending deep design craft, B2B brand context, and execution excellence. This role will shape how top-tier B2B enterprises and others show up in the digital world. You will guide a growing team of senior and junior designers, deliver high-performance websites, and build scalable systems and standards that elevate quality and speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the

  creative direction and design execution

  for all web projects from kickoff to deployment.
• Develop

  design systems, component libraries, and visual standards

  across clients and platforms.

• Mentor and coach

  a team of designers, enabling growth in both craft and confidence.
• Collaborate with

  strategists, writers, and developers

  to create cohesive user journeys.
• Lead

  feedback loops, QA reviews, and sign-offs

  across all design deliverables.
• Stay ahead of

  UX, accessibility, and tooling trends

  , including AI and automation.
• Create an internal culture of

  speed, detail, and ambition

  in digital design.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 912 years of web/UX/UI design experience, with at least 23 years in a

  leadership or mentorship role

  .
• Strong portfolio of

  large scale web projects

  or

  enterprise-grade websites

  ideally for B2B, SaaS, or complex services brands.
• Mastery of

  Figma

  , prototyping tools, and responsive design best practices.
• Strong grasp of

  design systems, accessibility standards (WCAG)

  , and performance principles. Experience integrating design with multiple CMS (WordPress, Webflow, or headless).
• Comfortable working with

  developers and PMs

  , and confident presenting to clients.
• A

  high-craft, low-ego leader

  who cares about both perfect pixels and the people behind it.
• Comfortable building from scratch if need be, iterating fast, and leading by example.
