Our company is on a mission to create the world's best transaction tax engine, and we need individuals who are willing to work hard and are passionate about what they do. **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for owning every aspect of VAT and GST worldwide, starting with key regions such as the EU, UK, India, UAE, Canada, and Brazil. Your main goal will be to launch new countries quickly and efficiently. **Key Responsibilities:** - Research, verify, and maintain VAT/GST rates, boundaries, and return schemas - Structure content in well-documented spreadsheets for engineers to use - Track legislative changes in real-time and update production promptly - Model complex scenarios to ensure accurate API calculations - Develop rollout playbooks and mentor regional specialists - Utilize AI and automation tools to enhance productivity **Qualifications Required:** - Five to ten years of deep VAT/GST expertise in multiple regions - Experience in tax technology companies or tax engine integrations with ERP software - Proven ability to turn raw legislation into structured data - Familiarity with tax engines and content pipelines - Effective collaboration with engineers and product teams - Strong work ethic, ownership mentality, and ability to work at a startup pace - Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus If you join Commenda, you can expect a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and the opportunity to work closely with founders and engineers in San Francisco, Bangalore, or London.
