As a Senior Research Leader in Dolby's Advanced Technology Group (ATG) at the new R+D Center in Bangalore, you will be a key player in driving innovation. The ATG is Dolby Labs" research and technology hub focusing on advancements in audio, video, AR/VR, and multimodal technologies applied to various industries. Your expertise in computer science and electrical engineering, particularly in AI/ML, computer vision, image processing, and other related fields, will be instrumental in the research endeavors. Your responsibilities within Dolby ATG research will encompass three main areas: 1. State-of-the-art Research: - Conduct hands-on research to pioneer AI-based multimodal image, audio, and speech technologies. - Utilize the latest AI advancements to explore applications in multimedia technologies, enhancing video and audio delivery, analysis, classification, and separation for Dolby's future offerings. 2. Talent Management: - Lead and mentor a group of AI researchers specializing in multimodal analysis, processing, playback, and enhancement technologies. - Develop and nurture junior researchers to work independently, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 3. Technology Strategy: - Define and drive research initiatives focusing on cross-media intelligence, developing multimodal machine learning algorithms, and leveraging multimodal perception for multimedia technology advancements. - Collaborate with global research teams to set technology directions, project identification, and the development of AI-based technologies for Dolby's cloud and licensing business. Education And Desired Experience: - Ph.D. with 8 years of corporate research experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science with a strong AI focus. - Proficiency in AI technologies with expertise in network architectures, data augmentation, and preparation, NLP, and multi-modal architectures. - Track record of successfully applying AI technologies to multimodal problems and productizing novel AI-based technologies. - Strong publication record and expertise in statistical signal processing, machine learning algorithms, and GPU/CPU implementations. - Proficiency in C/C++, Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch, and experience in managing and mentoring researchers. - Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills in English.
