Job Description

Head of Media & Public Relations

This role involves enhancing the university's visibility, building its brand reputation, and

fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will

have a proven track record in media management, public relations, and strategic communication, preferably within the education or corporate sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Media and PR Planning

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive media and PR strategy aligned with the university's vision and goals.

2. Identify opportunities to promote the university's academic programs, research

initiatives, achievements, and events.

3. Monitor and analyze trends in higher education and public perception to refine communication strategies.

Media Relations

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international media outlets.

2. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the university and manage media inquiries effectively.

3. Draft press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to ensure consistent messaging.

4. Collaborate with the digital marketing team to ensure an impactful online presence through social media, blogs, and other digital platforms.

Brand Management

1. Oversee the university's branding and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

2. Collaborate with internal departments to align PR activities with academic and institutional goals.

3. Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring timely and effective responses to safeguard the university's reputation.

Event Management and Public Engagement

1. Plan and execute high-profile events, press conferences, and media briefings.

2. Coordinate with academic and administrative teams to highlight milestones, research outcomes, and community outreach programs.

3. Represent the university at public forums, conferences, and industry events.

Stakeholder Communication

1. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, corporate partners, and government agencies.

2. Prepare and present periodic reports on media performance, PR activities, and brand perception to the university leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Master's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Strong network with media professionals and influencers.
  • Proven expertise in crisis management and brand strategy.
