Head of Engineering

You will be responsible for delivering large and complex programmes within budget and schedule to meet outlined outcomes. This includes adhering to defined processes and quality standards for a portfolio with a Total Contract Value (TCV) of $3-5 million. Your role will involve tracking operational and logistic decision-making and implementing a robust governance model involving internal and customer stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Drive adoption of established delivery plans, standards, processes, best software engineering practices, and the right infrastructure to deliver high-quality solutions to UST customers - Provide thought leadership to foster a culture of innovation within the teams and develop innovative solutions that improve business performance and contribute to organizational goals - Manage the profit and loss (P&L) of a portfolio with a TCV of $3-5 million - Support the portfolio's growth objective of 10-15% Year over Year (YoY) - Implement digital transformation plans focusing on service improvements and proposing innovative ideas to customers - Build and manage a team of 60-100 associates, providing mentoring and ensuring high levels of team engagement and capability development - Improve and optimize delivery processes within budget constraints - Apply financial strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness and profitability - Engage with key client stakeholders to ensure delivery requirements are met - Conduct regular reviews to track delivery milestones and processes and make decisions based on review results - Ensure active participation in steering committee meetings Measures of Outcomes: - Revenue and profitability targets vs. actual performance - Mix of digital services and services penetration targets vs. actual performance - Transformational value delivered to the client - Customer and employee satisfaction levels Required Qualifications: - 12+ years of experience in software development with at least 4+ years in a leadership role - Strong expertise in Java/.Net, JavaScript Framework, Azure DevOps, Python, Docker/Kubernetes - Experience with agile methodologies and modern DevOps practices - Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within scope - Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Experience scaling engineering teams in a high-growth environment - Deep knowledge of system design, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure - Prior experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent - Familiarity with compliance, security best practices, and regulatory requirements About UST: UST is a global digital transformation solutions provider partnering with clients from design to operation.
