Purpose of the Role: The purpose of the Head of Design ( Workplace Design) role is to lead and oversee the creative direction, planning, and execution of design projects to deliver innovative, functional, and aesthetically exceptional spaces. This role focuses on aligning design strategies with organizational goals, ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering creativity within the team. The Head of Design drives the development of cutting-edge concepts while maintaining quality standards, managing budgets, and adhering to timelines. Strategy Formulation: Define a cohesive design philosophy that reflects the companys brand identity and values. Establish creative benchmarks and standards to ensure innovation and excellence in every project. Identify emerging trends in interior design, materials, and technologies to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into the companys portfolio. Develop strategies to target high-potential markets and key client segments. Integrate sustainable design practices into all projects to align with environmental standards and client demands. Encourage experimentation and innovation to deliver groundbreaking design concepts that set the company apart. Develop strategies to achieve profitability while maintaining high design standards. Client Relationship Management: Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their vision, requirements, and expectations. Conduct detailed discussions to identify project goals, functionality needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget constraints. Translate client inputs into actionable design strategies and proposals. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle. Regularly update clients on project progress, timelines, and milestones to maintain transparency and incorporate client feedback into designs and offering creative solutions that align with their vision. Provide clear and concise explanations of design concepts, technical details, and cost implications. Proactively address concerns or challenges to maintain client confidence and satisfaction and provide tailor design solutions to reflect the clients unique identity, values, and goals. Business Operations: Implement efficient workflows to streamline the design process from concept to execution. Standardize project management practices to ensure consistency across projects. Introduce and leverage design tools and technology to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround times. Work closely with other departments to align design initiatives with business goals. Act as a bridge between creative and operational teams to ensure mutual understanding and effective communication. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and client demands. Drive innovation by integrating new design techniques, materials, and technologies. Regularly evaluate the performance of design projects and the team against established goals. Prepare and present reports on operational metrics, project outcomes, and financial performance to senior management. Use data-driven insights to refine business operations and improve efficiency. Team Development : Build, mentor, and lead a world-class design team, ensuring continuous professional growth. Establish hiring strategies to attract top design talent and create a strong talent pipeline. Foster a culture of creativity, inclusivity, and collaboration within the team. Implement learning and development initiatives to enhance team capabilities. Educational Qualification / Work Experience & Skills: M.Arch / B.Arch (Interior-Architecture) professional with 18+years of experience & leadership experience of managing a team or studio ( for Workplace Design) You have been in a client facing role and have experience of managing clients & handling pitches and design presentations. You have excellent design management and presentation skills with relevant experience of working on Corporate Interiors / Workplace design projects. You have a strong design sensibility and the technical ability to develop a project from concept to execution. You are a team player with a positive attitude to go the extra mile You have multi-tasking ability, with time management and organizational skills. You have knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop You will subscribe to the company core values- teamwork, integrity and excellence
