Head of Cloud Engineering

As a senior architect cum development lead at UBS, your primary role will involve rebuilding the Credit Risk Management solution by reimagining workflows, redesigning data layout, and transitioning the application to a cloud-native platform to provide near real-time updates. Your focus will be on delivering quality solutions that enhance productivity, support business expansion, and ensure user satisfaction. Credit Risk Officers require enhanced automation and intelligence within the applications to effectively assess risks, offering you the opportunity to shape the technical future and take ownership of Cloud Engineering by architecting common components and services. Your responsibilities will include designing a multi-tenant platform for pod-level independence, breaking down systems into components for on-demand delivery capabilities, and implementing cloud architecture with a focus on scalability and Platform as a Service (PaaS) features. Additionally, you will provide support in transitioning from batch-oriented monitoring systems to near real-time, event-driven monitoring. As an engineering leader, you will mentor and guide other team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions for the Credit Risk Monitoring platform. In terms of qualifications, we are seeking an individual with over 15 years of experience in application design and development, particularly in projects requiring high SLAs for data availability and quality. Your expertise should include designing Multi-Tenant Platforms, cloud architecture and development, and building cloud-native applications using technologies such as Java Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Azure Services. You should also have a deep understanding of distributed architectures for data-intensive applications and experience in establishing architectural best practices. Familiarity with near Real-Time processing engines and DevOps toolsets like GitLab, Jenkins, PyTest, and Cucumber will be beneficial for this role. You will collaborate with a diverse team within the Credit Risk Monitoring Stream, working alongside colleagues from the US, UK, Zurich, and India, including Credit Officers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and developers.
