Role: Head / Chairman of Gastroenterology

Location: NCR

Objective:

To lead and coordinate gastroenterology medical services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with JCI accreditation in all areas, including ambulatory services.

Skills and Competencies:

- Clinical Expertise:

Strong proficiency in gastroenterological procedures and patient management.

- Leadership Skills:

Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.

- Communication:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on patient and staff interaction.

- Analytical Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in clinical practice.

- Commitment to Education:

Passion for continuous learning and professional development.

- Execute complex procedures such as POEM, ERCPs and PD stenting, in addition to routine colonoscopies and endoscopies.

- Perform endoscopic ultrasound and cyst gastrostomy with moderate sedation.

- Be on call for emergencies within the specialty.

- Conduct collective rounds with medical staff to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.

- Facilitate audits in relevant areas and address any inquiries.

- Ensure the implementation of SOPs for medical services.

- Support functional and administrative heads in day-to-day operations.

- Adhere to duty rosters and communicate with heads for any schedule changes or leave requests.

- Participate in in-service education programs and staff training to enhance service excellence.

- Maintain accurate record-keeping in all relevant areas.

- Engage in periodic staff reviews to assess effectiveness and implement improvements.

- Provide insights to functional and administrative heads for clinical committees as needed.

- Ensure proper documentation and follow-up on deaths, LAMAs, and other significant events.

- Manage medico-legal cases appropriately.

- Report notifiable diseases to relevant authorities and ensure compliance.

- Liaison with other departments to achieve service excellence.

Qualifications:

- Medical degree (DM) with a specialization in Gastroenterology.

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a clinical gastroenterology setting.

- Proven leadership and team management skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Skills and Competencies:

- Expertise in gastroenterological procedures and patient care.

- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.

- Knowledge of infection control and health care regulations.

- Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation practices.

- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
