You will be joining Kalam Labs, India's First Kids Space Organization, for an exciting opportunity to work on a Stratospheric Glider Drone mission. As an aerospace engineer with a strong passion for aeromodelling, you will play a crucial role in nurturing kids" interest in space-tech. Your main focus will be on leveraging your expertise in building aerospace projects, such as fixed-wing aircraft and FPVs, to contribute to this ambitious mission. This role offers hands-on project experience and the chance to learn and grow within a dynamic and enthusiastic team. Your responsibilities will include developing prototypes using various aeromodelling materials like balsa, Depron sheets, and XPS foam. You will conduct thorough testing to validate design concepts and enhance performance. Additionally, you will need to have a solid understanding of drone avionics to support the embedded engineering team. Utilizing advanced aerodynamic modeling techniques and tools will be essential for simulating and optimizing aircraft performance. You will also have the opportunity to pilot fixed-wing aircraft and drones for testing and demonstration purposes. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Entry-level to 3 years of experience in the field is preferred. Proficiency in CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, XFLR-5, and other relevant design and simulation software is required. Preferred skills for this role include expertise in aerodynamic modeling and simulation, proficiency in building aircraft using various materials, rapid prototyping abilities, experience in piloting fixed-wing aircraft and drones, as well as hands-on experience in building and testing aerospace projects.
