We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production operational tasks, database administration, architecture, and automation of database services and solutions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our PostgreSQL databases, which are critical to our innovative agricultural insurance platform. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases (versions 12+, 13, 14) in production environments. - Perform database installations, upgrades, and patching. - Implement and manage High Availability (HA) solutions for PostgreSQL databases. - Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. - Ensure data integrity and security through robust backup and recovery strategies. - Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures. - Perform database performance tuning and query optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Analyze and optimize SQL queries to improve performance. - Conduct performance testing and capacity planning. - Implement and manage comprehensive backup and restore strategies using tools like pg_dump and physical backup solutions. - Perform regular backup testing and disaster recovery drills. - Configure and manage PostgreSQL replication and failover mechanisms. - Ensure seamless failover and minimize downtime in case of database failures. - Manage PostgreSQL databases on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including cloud DB technologies like RDS and Aurora (highly desirable). - Optimize cloud database configurations for performance and cost-effectiveness. - Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks (Bash, Python, Git). - Automate routine database maintenance and administration tasks. - Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth database operations. - Provide technical support and guidance to developers and other stakeholders. - Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. - Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication. **Required Skills & Experience** - 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA (versions 12+, 13, 14). - Proven experience managing HA solutions for PostgreSQL. - Strong experience with backup and restore procedures (pg_dump, physical backup tools). - Expertise in database performance tuning and SQL query optimization. - Experience with PostgreSQL replication and failover. - Experience with scripting and task automation (Bash, Python, Git). - Experience with performance tuning and query optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. - Ability to organize and plan work independently. - Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. - Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Flexible, team player, and "get-it-done" personality. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including cloud DB technologies (RDS, Aurora). - Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). - Networking knowledge related to databases (Linux iptables, DNS, load balancers).,
