Khatib & Alami Hiring for Sr. Engineer / Sr. Project Engineer Protection and Control (Substation Design) Location: Bangalore Design Center Department: Power and Renewables Transmission Reporting To: Associate Principal / Director Power and Renewables Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Sr. Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer Protection and Control with strong expertise in Substation Design (up to 400kV, AIS & GIS) to join our Infrastructure Division. The role involves delivering high-quality protection and control designs, leading project design teams, managing client coordination, and ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules for international Transmission & Distribution projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver Secondary design engineering for substations (SLDs, CT/VT, interlocks, SCADA, SAS, protection). Perform CT/VT sizing, relay setting calculations, SCADA/SAS integration. Prepare technical specifications, review vendor documents, and ensure design compliance. Coordinate with global K&A teams and clients to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery. Provide support for proposals, resource planning, and man-hour estimation. Qualifications & Skills: Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering. Experience: Sr. Project Engineer: 1216 years Sr. Engineer/Project Engineer: 812 years Gulf region substation experience is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Substation Design (AIS & GIS up to 400kV) Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, SEC, Aramco standards Tools: AutoCAD, MS Office, PowerPoint, ETAP (basic) Protocols: IEC 61850, DNP, Modbus, GOOSE, TCP/IP Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Preferred Background: Experience in working with utilities, EPCs, or design consultancies in the T&D domain. Knowledge of protection coordination, SAS systems, SCADA RTU upgrades, and telecom system extensions.
