Guide the R&D team about the changes desired in the process. 3. Select most appropriate technology, estimate project cost as well as time lines and seek concurrence from all stakeholders. 4. Provide support for project related legal and statutory approvals. 5. Provide strategic input to / Participate along with procurement team for technical and commercial negotiations with vendors for supply of equipment & engineering items for project and maintenance. 6. Execute project as per agreed deliverables such as time, cost and targeted output. 7. Participate in decisions around selection of site and seeking various statutory permissions to initiate and execute project. 8. Provide strategic input to senior team on trends in technology as well as key technical/process related future improvement scenarios on an ongoing basis for forming contours of future projects. 9. Guide the commissioning team to resolve the process problems faced. 10. Provide leadership to the team of process design and projects by developing talent and initiating smooth transition to a high performance team. 11. Accountable for brown and green field projects. 12. Provide support and key decision maker for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation. 13. Manage projects within schedule and budget. 14. Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry (mandatory) MSc in Organic Chemistry , Industrial Chemistry , or Inorganic Chemistry Experience: 10-14 years of relevant industrial R&D experience in chemical or allied industries. Proven track record in process development, optimization, and technology transfer. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Unit Operations in chemical R&D. Hands-on experience with high-pressure autoclaves, hydrogenation, chlorination, bromination, and moisture-sensitive products. Exposure to polymer catalysts and polymerization processes. Proficiency in literature search tools (SciFinder, Reaxys, Patents). Lead new product development and process scale-up activities. Familiarity with audit systems (IMS, ISO, Responsible Care). Perform and interpret analysis using GC, HPLC, DSC, TGA, NMR, IR, AAS , etc. Ensure compliance with safety systems (HAZOP, PSSR, MSDS reviews, What-If analysis). Guide the team on safe laboratory practices and hazard identification. Prepare SOPs, technical documents, and project reports.
