Role Overview: JSW Energy Ltd. is seeking a competent and dedicated GSS Engineer to support the design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Grid Substations (GSS). The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical equipment and systems, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing technical documentation. Key Responsibilities: Support the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of Grid Substation (GSS) electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and control systems. Perform routine and preventive maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted substation operations. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for smooth execution of substation projects. Monitor substation equipment performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and compliance records related to GSS operations. Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, and regulatory standards within the substation premises. Assist in material inspection, tracking procurement activities including Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and invoice follow-ups. Support the implementation of substation automation and SCADA systems. Participate in technical reviews, audits, and site inspections. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 2-5 years’ experience in grid substation operations, commissioning, or maintenance. Knowledge of electrical equipment used in substations such as circuit breakers, isolators, CT/PT, transformers, and protection relays. Familiarity with power system safety standards, grid codes, and regulatory requirements. Proficient in documentation and technical reporting. Good communication and coordination skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with SCADA and Substation Automation Systems (SAS). Exposure to Electrical Maintenance Management Systems (EMMS) or ERP tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of renewable energy integration is an added advantage.
