Job Title: Senior Purchase Manager (Alcoholic Beverage industry) Department: Procurement & Supply Chain Location: Mumbai Salary: Upto 20 Lks Experience: Minimum 10+ years in procurement and 5 + years within the Alcoholic Beverage industry Role Objective To lead and manage procurement operations with a strong focus on the Alco-Bev industry, ensuring timely sourcing of packaging materials, raw materials, and services at optimum cost and quality, while maintaining compliance with industry norms and excise regulations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end procurement of materials specific to the Alco-Bev industry such as bottles, closures, cartons, labels, excise seal requirements, chemicals, and consumables. Identify and engage with reliable vendors familiar with regulatory and packaging norms of Alco-Bev. Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining high quality standards. Ensure compliance with Excise Department rules, label registration requirements, and state-specific sourcing regulations. Coordinate with winemaking, production, quality, finance, and marketing teams to align procurement with business needs. Manage procurement-related documentation including purchase orders, contracts, GRNs, and inward registers in ERP (SAP or similar). Build a robust supplier base and conduct regular evaluations on delivery timelines, product quality, and pricing consistency. Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production schedules and market demand forecasts. Support annual budgeting, cost audits, and statutory inspections related to purchases and vendor compliance. Lead and mentor a team of executives, ensuring seamless procurement operations and vendor communications. Required Skills & Competencies : Deep understanding of Alco-Bev packaging components, vendor ecosystem, and excise-linked procurement norms. Strong negotiation, commercial acumen, and analytical abilities. Hands-on experience with ERP systems and procurement modules. Familiarity with excise rules, label approvals, and regulatory compliance in multiple states. Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Commerce / Engineering. MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred. Prior experience with a leading winery, brewery, or spirits company is mandatory.
