Position Overview We are seeking experienced Pipe Fabricators to carry out cutting, preparation, layout, and assembly of various types of pipes in line with fabrication drawings. The ideal candidate should have experience working in shipbuilding, mechanical repair shops, or infrastructure projects involving marine or industrial piping systems. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings, and fabrication sketches Measure, mark, and cut pipes (MS, SS, GI, ERW, Seamless, Alloy) to specified lengths and angles Perform pipe bending, threading, grooving, and beveling using appropriate tools Layout and assemble pipe spools using tack welding, clamping, or jig fixtures Conduct fit-up checks and ensure proper alignment and orientation for welding Use hand tools, grinders, pipe cutters, and flame/gas torches for shaping and preparation Coordinate with welders, riggers, and mechanical fitters during the erection or installation phase Follow standard safety procedures while working in confined spaces or at heights Inspect fabricated sections for dimensional accuracy and welding clearances Support QA/QC teams during dimensional verification, hydro test preparation, and inspections Requirements Education: 10th Pass / ITI in Fitter / Pipe Fitter / Mechanical or equivalent vocational course Training in blueprint reading or fabrication layouts preferred Experience Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in pipe fabrication, preferably in shipyards, oil & gas projects, pressure vessels, or locomotive depots Knowledge of pipe classes, schedules, and materials (MS, SS, Duplex, CuNi, etc.) Technical Skills Skilled in using measuring tools (Vernier caliper, square, bevel protractor) Familiar with pipe fabrication machines – cutting, beveling, threading, rolling Ability to maintain tolerances and support complex routing as per layout Basic understanding of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and allowances for weld shrinkage Soft & Physical Skills Strong coordination skills to work within tight spaces and project deadlines Physically fit to lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods Safety-first attitude with strong teamwork and communication Preferred Background Shipbuilding or defense yard experience (e.g., GRSE, MDL, L&T Shipyard) Experience in power plant pipelines, locomotive waterlines, or utility piping systems Worked in accordance with standards like ASME B31.3 / B31.1 or Class society standards (LRS, IRS, ABS) Compensation & Benefits Competitive wages, paid overtime, and incentives for high-precision fabrication Accommodation and travel allowance for project site workers Opportunity for certification upgrades and promotion to Pipe Supervisor / Fabrication Lead PPE and tool support provided by the company Why Work With Mr. Garaz?
