As a Senior Realistic Character Designer at Green Gold, you will be responsible for leading the creation of lifelike digital characters for high-end cinematic, gaming, or VFX projects. Your expertise in modeling, sculpting, and texturing, combined with a keen eye for anatomical accuracy, emotional nuance, and photorealistic detail, will be crucial to bringing characters to life with authenticity and impact. You will collaborate closely with concept artists, riggers, and technical directors to ensure the seamless integration of characters into projects. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and developing realistic 3D characters from concept to final production-ready assets, sculpting high-resolution models with anatomical precision, creating clean topology for animation and rigging workflows, developing detailed textures using various tools, collaborating with concept artists to enhance character designs, and maintaining consistency in style, scale, and quality across all character assets. Additionally, you will mentor junior artists and contribute to pipeline improvements to streamline the production process. To excel in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in character design for film, games, or VFX, with expert-level proficiency in software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. A strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, as well as experience with rendering engines and texture creation, is essential. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills are also key to your success in this position. Preferred qualifications include experience with grooming tools, knowledge of facial blendshapes and FACS-based workflows, a background in traditional art or sculpture, and leadership experience in a production environment. A portfolio showcasing your high-quality realistic character work is a must-have for consideration.
