The role includes preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of machines such as -Forging presses & hammersCNC & conventional gear Hobbing / Shaping machinesHeat treatment furnacesInduction heatersInduction hardening machinesHydraulic & pneumatic equipment Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of forging presses (mechanical/hydraulic), hammers, induction heaters, and trimming machines.Maintain and troubleshoot gear manufacturing machines including mechanical gear hobbing, CNC gear hobbing and skiving machines, gun drilling and grinding machines.Carry out maintenance and repairs of CNC operated machines (turning, HMC, VMC machines), used in machining of gears.Maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic controls, and lubrication systems across all machinery.Ensure alignment, balancing, and mechanical integrity of rotating equipment (e.g., motors, gearboxes, spindles).Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.Maintain proper documentation of machine maintenance, spares usage, and service logs.Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and plan shutdowns effectively.Monitor the condition of equipment using vibration analysis, temperature checks, and oil analysis where applicable.Comply with safety standards and ensure maintenance activities are performed with minimal risk.Maintain inventory of spare parts and raise purchase requests in time.Lead or assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment or machinery upgrades. Skills and Competencies:Hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems in forging and machining environments.Familiarity with gear manufacturing processes and tolerances.Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.Working knowledge of TPM, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency breakdowns.Should have good experience in maintenance ERP modules, preferably SAP. Preferred Experience:Maintenance experience with drop hammers, forging Screw presses (up to 3000T), induction heaters.Experience with CNC gear cutting/grinding machines – Liebherr, Pfauter, or similar. Lead and manage all production operations in a precision CNC job shop environment. Oversee scheduling, quality (GD&T), process optimization, and utilize ERP systems effectively. Requires hands-on CNC programming/operations expertise and proficiency with Fanuc & Siemens controls. Role & responsibilities Manage and optimize daily production activities to meet delivery deadlines and quality expectations. Utilize and leverage the company's ERP system for production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and data analysis. Oversee CNC programming and provide technical guidance to the programming team. Possess hands-on knowledge of CNC machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes, ensuring parts meet exact specifications and GD&T requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Monitor and improve key production metrics, such as efficiency, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and scrap reduction. Collaborate with engineering, sales, and quality departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of orders. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions effectively. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Stay updated on the latest advancements in CNC technology and manufacturing processes. Preferred candidate profile Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma). Familiarity with CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of various machining processes and materials. Proactive and results-oriented with a strong attention to detail.
