The Opportunity HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and HVDC Light are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. It is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used. HVDC Light® is a power transmission technology developed by Hitachi Energy that offers additional benefits compared to HVDC Classic. You will work mainly with electrical design of main circuit equipment in projects with medium to high complexity. Your Background Electrical Engineer minimum Master of Engineering level Extensive knowledge of Layout Engineering, electrical and Mechanical Calcualtions Understanding and design of Grounding, Lightning, Insulation and EMF Studies. Preferably knowledge on IEC/IEEE standards Proven skills in using computers as a calculation tool. Preferably experience of power system simulation tools such as CDGES, COMSOL, AutoCAD, NX. Strong interpersonal communication skill, Fluent English Extensive knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose, such as Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnector, Surge Arrester etc. Knowledge in selection, sizing and integration of above equipment based on customer functional specification. Generating Preliminary BOM by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing it. Preparation of Mimic boards in line with SLD and Layout drawings. Understanding and preparation of Communication Architecture diagrams. Preparation of protection schematics (Trafo, Line, Busbar) when we’ve integrated protection in LCC . Selection of Bay Control Unit and other protection IEDs (Basic level). Preparation of complete Digital LCC drawings as part of Digital Substation (with NCITs, MU’s, SAM600 modules, etc...). Preparation of Gas Density monitoring panels using MSM (Modular Switchgear Monitoring). Adhering to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
