The Seed Processing In-Charge is responsible for managing and supervising all operations in the seed processing plant. This includes seed cleaning, grading, treatment, packaging, and storage, ensuring that the final product meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role requires technical knowledge of seed processing machinery and seed quality management. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: Plan, schedule, and supervise daily seed processing activities. Monitor seed intake, cleaning, grading, treatment, and packing operations. Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of processing equipment. Quality Control: Ensure all seed lots meet internal and external quality standards. Conduct or oversee sampling and testing for germination, moisture, purity, and other parameters. Implement quality control measures during each stage of processing. Inventory & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of processed seed batches, quality reports, and stock levels. Monitor raw seed stock and packaging material inventory. Prepare and maintain process reports, compliance logs, and audit documentation. Staff Management: Lead and train plant workers and machine operators. Assign tasks and monitor worker performance to ensure efficiency and safety. Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations. Implement and monitor good manufacturing practices (GMP) in the plant. Comply with local, state, and international seed certification standards. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Coordinate routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment failures. Work with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Seed Technology, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in seed processing or a similar agro-industry role. Strong knowledge of seed cleaning, grading, and treatment technologies. Familiarity with seed certification processes and quality standards. Leadership and team management capabilities. Good organizational and documentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software. Preferred Qualifications: B. Tech (Agri), B.Sc. Agri, M.Sc.
