Graphic Designer

CACTUS is a remote-first organization and we embrace an accelerate from anywhere culture. You may be required to travel to our Mumbai office based on business requirements or for company/team events.

As a Graphic Designer, you will work on a diverse range of design projects including scientific graphical abstracts, medical and surgical illustrations, scientific infographics,scientificposters, flyers, and more. You will collaborate closely with the content team (scientific writers) to ensure each design aligns with client briefs, effectively communicates key messages, and meets high-quality standards. You'll also contribute creative ideas, ensuring visually appealing outputs that cater to scientific needs.

Design& delivery:

• Create visually engaging designs for scientific graphical abstracts, medical illustrations, scientific infographics, posters, and other formats.

• Collaborate with the content team to understand project requirements and translate them into impactful visual designs.

• Translate research-based and science-based content to professional designs,aligned with client expectations.

• Ensure graphic consistency, clarity, and high-quality standards across all deliverables.

• Review and coordinate with freelance designers when required to maintain quality and timely delivery.

• Manage multiple design projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and client briefs.

Qualitymanagement:

• Provide constructive feedback to peers and freelancers to maintain design excellence.

• Identify and resolve design issues, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal quality benchmarks.

Essential skills

• Versatile Design Portfolio: Experience across scientific graphical abstracts, medical illustrations, scientific infographics, academic posters, flyers, etc.

• Infographic & Visual Storytelling: Ability to simplify complex research-based and science-based information into clear, engaging visuals.

• Adobe Suite Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. (PowerPoint, or strong understanding of 3D tools knowledge is a plus.)

• Communication: Strong written and verbal English skills to collaborate with internal teams and clients.

• Organization & Problem-Solving: Ability to manage tight deadlines, multitask, and deliver independently.

• Customer Focus: Proactive approach in understanding client needs and delivering value-driven solutions.

• Growth Mindset: Openness to learning, adaptability, and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.

• 3-5 years of experience in graphic design across infographics, marketing materials, editorial design, scientific communication, or related fields.

• Strong command of Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Experience with PowerPoint, Figma, or 3D graphics will be an added advantage.
