Your Role and Responsibilities The Data and AI Development team is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Backend Development Engineer with Ansible Operator expertise to join us. Our services belong to the Match360 product portfolio and are tightly integrated with IBM Cloud Pak for Data, where customers can access a suite of leading data and AI capabilities in a unified experience. As a Backend Developer, you will: Design, develop, and/or re-engineer complex product components, and integrate software packages, programs, and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms. Job Responsibilities: As a Backend developer, you will be responsible for: Development, maintenance, and support of the Match360 applications through the full systems development lifecycle. Participating in the design and implementation of sophisticated software systems. Working with the Product Architects and Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards execution. Participating in software design and code reviews to ensure high software quality and share knowledge. Participating in and adhering to professional software engineering practices using tools and methodologies such as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Source Code Management (git), and GitHub. Ensuring good code coverage. Supporting bug fixes during testing and deploying to target environments. Participating in the planning, creation, and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing. Creating and maintaining technical documentation. Hands-on experience in handling and debugging customer issues, working with the L2 support team. Maintaining a high level of proficiency with Computer Science/Software Engineering knowledge and contributing to the technical skills growth of other team members. Providing vigilance and compliance to various software engineering, support, and release processes (e.g., security, stack upgrades that are free of vulnerabilities, etc.). Education Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Technical and Professional Expertise Required Technical and Professional Expertise: 5-10 years of professional/industrial experience in software development. Expertise with Core Java, Java J2EE, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible (playbook & development), MicroServices Architecture, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby, GoLang etc., using Ansible Operator. Proficiency in container-based deployment using OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud etc. Working knowledge of system architecture, network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP etc. Working knowledge of database technologies such as SQL or NoSQL, GraphDB's. Experience in using messaging brokers like RabbitMQ, Kafka etc. Experience in building secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable software and openness to learn open-source tools and automating processes. Working knowledge on tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle. Understanding and experience with Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.). Understanding and experience with DevOps, Agile, and Design/Implementation within CI/CD and Secure Software Engineering Best Practices. Understanding and experience writing and executing Unit and Integration Tests as part of Test-Driven DevOps Development. Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
