Join us as a Test Automation Engineer at Barclays, where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. To be successful as a Test Automation Engineer , you should have experience with: Delivering manual and automation testing solutions in a complex business area with emphasis on creation, maintenance, and execution of automated tests. Strong knowledge in Java programming language for automation testing together with Selenium, BDD Cucumber, TestNG and SQL. Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle. Experience in REST API automation with different framework creation Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality. Some other highly valued skills may include: Effective communication skills, ability to participate in culture of knowledge sharing within the team Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with UNIX. Experience in Agile methodology with SDLC and STLC. Experience with JIRA for Project and task tracking Experience working in Corporate Banking or Regulatory Domains for testing projects. Experience in Performance Testing with load testing tools such as LoadRunner. Purpose of the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Accountabilities Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
