You will be joining an advanced-technology scale-up company operating at the intersection of Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Semiconductor Engineering. The hardware division focuses on designing full-stack enterprise quantum computers encompassing superconducting processors, cryogenic control electronics, and RF instrumentation to drive innovations in various sectors including life sciences, finance, transportation, and space exploration. In this role, you will be responsible for modeling coupled superconducting-qubit systems, creating Hamiltonian-level descriptions, and validating them through extensive numerical simulations to assess error-correction performance. Collaborating closely with processor-design engineers, you will develop and optimize qubit-control schemes to enhance architecture and performance. Additionally, you will design simulation workflows and computational tools to predict coherence times, gate fidelities, and other critical device metrics. You will also be involved in creating experimental protocols and analysis pipelines for quantum-state and process tomography, with the aim of improving theoretical models. Your tasks will include publishing research findings in peer-reviewed publications, authoring technical reports to guide design-of-experiments (DoE), and roadmap decisions. You will play a key role in promoting a culture of rigorous peer review, knowledge-sharing, and cross-functional collaboration within the quantum-hardware program. To be successful in this role, you must hold an MSc/M.Tech/PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong foundation in quantum mechanics. Deep knowledge of Hamiltonian engineering, circuit QED, and superconducting-qubit error-correction schemes is essential. Proficiency in numerical methods, computational modeling of quantum circuits, and experience with Python-based quantum platforms such as QuTiP, Qiskit, and Cirq is required. You should have expertise in designing protocols for measuring coherence times, gate fidelities, and tomography, as well as a proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum technology. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are crucial for this role. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with bosonic codes, autonomous error-correction, and advanced value-engineering techniques. Experience in writing analytical reports to shape DoE and experimentation roadmaps, working with GPU-accelerated simulators, or contributing to open-source quantum-software libraries would be advantageous. Exposure to hybrid AI-quantum workflows or domain-specific optimization in areas like life sciences, finance, or materials is also desirable. This is a full-time position that requires in-person work at the company's location.
