As an Application Architect at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of location strategy projects by ensuring adherence to plan, budget, quality, and governance standards. Your primary responsibility will involve driving the evolution of the digital landscape, fostering innovation, and ensuring excellence in digital offerings to enhance customer experiences. To excel in this role, you should possess expertise in various areas including enterprise design patterns, solutioning, design and architectural artifacts, analytical skills, estimation, Java, UI technology stack, and cloud engineering. Additionally, exposure to solutioning for digital channels and the ability to quickly adapt to design principles and governances will be highly valued. Your performance in this role will be evaluated based on critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology proficiency, in addition to job-specific technical competencies. Based in Pune, the purpose of your role as an Application Architect is to design, develop, and implement solutions for complex business problems. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, design solutions that meet those requirements, and ensure a balance between technology risks and business delivery to drive consistency. Key responsibilities include designing and developing solutions that align with modern software engineering practices, identifying and implementing appropriate technologies and platforms, leveraging cloud capabilities effectively, incorporating security principles, and delivering business and technology value while upholding governance processes. As an Assistant Vice President, you are expected to provide advisory insights, influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness. If in a leadership role, you will lead a team in performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, and foster a conducive environment for colleagues to excel. Whether as a leader or individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with other functions, guide team members through assignments, consult on complex issues, identify risk mitigation strategies, and contribute to strengthening controls and governance. Your role will involve engaging in complex data analysis, communicating complex information effectively, and influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
