Overview: We are seeking a Lead Data Strategist to drive data strategy and architecture for over 60 Risk and Compliance applications within the CIO Markets division. This leadership role requires a deep engineering background, particularly in designing and building large-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with Markets Data Leads to shape a robust data ecosystem that emphasizes strong data governance, lineage, and modelling. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Data Architecture for Risk and Compliance applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy. Own the Data Track, partnering with Markets data leads to define and maintain robust data models, enforce data controls, and establish end-to-end data lineage. Drive Data Culture, establishing data principles and embedding a data-driven mindset across teams. Core Skills & Experience: Proficient in Java and/or Python for backend and data processing tasks. Strong experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Familiar with data modelling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas. Skilled in cloud-native data tools for lineage, modelling, and governance (e.g., Google Dataplex or equivalent). Proven ability in designing large-scale ETL pipelines and big data solutions. Solid grasp of industry-standard data architecture principles and patterns. Excellent influencing and communication abilities, with a track record of working cross-functionally. Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Risk Management and Compliance applications. Experience with architectural design principles in regulated environments.
