As a Mechanical Engineer with 10 to 17 years of experience, you will be responsible for designing and CAD modeling Cockpit parts and Assemblies following engineering guidelines and checklists. You will evaluate supplier data to ensure engineering deliverables are met and determine action plans to achieve project milestones. Managing product data structure in PLM and ensuring BOM Quality will be a crucial aspect of your role. Your primary skills in Cockpit, Glove box, Dashboard, Instrument Panel, and Catia will be put to use to develop Design Standards, Carryover Strategy, and Technical Proposals aligned with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap. You will work on New Concepts, resolve Technical Issues, and contribute to the development of projects in line with engineering standards. You are required to have working knowledge in Catia V5R25 with expertise in modeling practices. Understanding general construction, materials, technologies, regulations, test standards, and requirements is essential. Knowledge of Six Sigma Tools (DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS), GD&T, EPS, NPI Process, cost drivers, and PLM Systems is necessary. Your engineering background should include completion of at least one Cockpit design/development project from styling to product launch. Familiarity with plastic component design, manufacturing processes (injection molding, 2K molding, Thermoforming), joinery processes (Vibration welding, US welding, gluing), secondary processes (Painting, chrome plating, IMD), soft-touch processes (IMG, Thermoforming, Slush molding), material selection, and DV/PV validation is required. In addition, knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Head impact, Knee Impact, Airbag deployment, Front Crash, etc., will be essential for this role.
