Role Overview The Head of Operations will lead and oversee all manufacturing-related operations through multiple suppliers and ensure efficient delivery of high-precision mechanical components and assemblies. This strategic leadership position will drive operational excellence, supplier performance, and robust process controls across the organization’s sourcing and manufacturing ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Operations & Manufacturing Strategy Design and implement strategic initiatives to optimize supplier network performance across manufacturing, precision machining, assembly, inspection, heat treatment, and plating processes. Champion Lean, continuous improvement, and cost-efficiency measures throughout operations. Supplier & Quality Management Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and development—particularly among Indian SMEs—to ensure global-standard performance and compliance with AS9100 and related quality frameworks. Conduct supplier audits, implement supplier quality assurance programs, and oversee corrective action mechanisms. Guarantee consistent on-time delivery, defect-free outputs, and rigorous adherence to quality protocols for materials and components. Process & Engineering Excellence Manage manufacturing engineering, process planning, tooling design, jigs & fixtures creation, and introduction of automation where beneficial. Collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless ramp-up of critical programs from concept to delivery. Cross-functional Leadership Coordinate between Engineering, Project management, Procurement, Quality assurance, and logistics to align operational goals with organizational objectives. Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and continuous monitoring of operations. Build and energize a high-performing team focused on innovation, agility, and technical excellence. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a central point of contact for global OEMs, providing visibility into manufacturing progress, quality performance, and delivery status. Maintain stringent protection of customer IP and confidentiality. Reporting & Compliance Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supplier performance, cost metrics, quality standards, and on-time delivery. Ensure regulatory and standards compliance (e.g., AS9100, lean manufacturing best practices) across operations. Required Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or comparable technical field Experience: Minimum of 15+ years in manufacturing operations/engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles overseeing supplier networks. Industry Expertise: Deep familiarity with aerospace, defense, or medical sectors; understanding of precision parts fabrication, assembly, treatments (e.g., plating, heat treatments), and Lean operations. Certification Awareness: Knowledge of AS9100, ISO standards, PPAP, value engineering, continuous improvement, and regulatory processes. Leadership Traits: Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, and vendor relationship management.
