Global Preferential Origin Senior Specialist

is responsible for Origin and Preference determination and assist in analyzing the customs data and overall management of the origin/ preference, solicitation from the global suppliers. The incumbent will need to work with various data structures and sources of it to analyze the parts information for identifying opportunities for duty savings and maximizing the visibility of the program. The role may require the incumbent to help with custom HTS classification duties.This position reports to the Director, Global Trade Operations and is part of the Global Trade Operations Team that sits within Cytiva's Supply Chain & Logistics Operations Organization and will be located in

Bangalore/Mumbai/Pune

and will be an on-site role.

What You Will Do

  • Solicitation of identified Buy-in parts with parts supplier for the preferential CoO and to communicate and this workstream.
  • Issue FTA Certificates of Origin for qualifying items and coordinate with import/export teams for legal submission. Research organization's item ingredients composition and sourcing to determine Country of Origin based on applicable Rules of Origin. This requires an in-depth understanding of regulations as well as the specific methods (RVC, Tariff Shift, De minimis) to determine Country of Origin.
  • Maintains and applies regulatory expertise in the Regional Value Content (RVC) provisions for multiple FTAs and other trade programs regarding foreign and domestic content of imported, exported, and domestically procured service and production parts and Cytiva manufactured items.
  • Review bills of material, technical materials, drawings, and other literature to ensure proper classifications are assigned; assigning classifications to parts on bills as required.
  • Maintenance of data and electronic records for Special Programs, organization's classification, and Country of Origin through organization's Global Trade System and other databases. Maintain Special Program Matrix. This includes record-keeping and audit of FTA Certificates issued by suppliers.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably in Electronics, Chemicals or Mechanical stream or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience performing Global Trade matters (Import/Export, HTS classification, Customs Law and Regulations) is necessary condition. And Minimum of 2-3 years of experience performing Origin Preference determination using RVC and CTC methods is desirable.
  • Excellent analyzing computer skills including advanced Excel skills such as writing Macros and Power Query and or using Visual Basic program to extract information will be advantageous.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Free Trade Agreements utilized in global trade, rules of origin, and method of determination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment with interpersonal communication skills, relationship management, and collaboration skills.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel 15% overnight domestic travel, 10% overnight international travel to Cytiva locations in US, Europe and Asia.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding rules and regulations involving WTO and WCO.
  • Running SQL queries to extract data and information that can be utilized to analyze further will be an added advantage.
