GIS Database Admin

As a GIS Database Administrator at our specialist operation in the Geospatial Technology & GIS Services sector, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our core spatial databases to ensure reliable data delivery to GIS analysts and applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Administering enterprise geodatabases by installing, configuring, and maintaining ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases and spatial databases such as PostGIS/ArcSDE. - Performing database maintenance tasks like backup & restore, replication, migrations, spatial index creation, and performance tuning for large spatial datasets. - Developing and maintaining ETL and automation scripts using Python, GDAL/OGR, or FME to ingest, validate, and publish geospatial data. - Implementing security measures, access control, and data governance policies for GIS data, including permissions, audits, and disaster recovery plans. - Monitoring database health, troubleshooting incidents across Linux/Windows server environments, and creating runbooks and automation for routine operations. - Collaborating with GIS developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams to support deployments, schema design, versioning, and production releases.
