Job Description

Job Duties: The GIS Analyst will assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and use of GIS technology to the Engineering department by performing the following essential job duties: • Participates in the development, implementation, maintenance and use of the GIS system • Assist in data organization and management, digitize and maintain spatial databases; document procedures, validate data for accuracy and completeness, complete approved metadata forms and produce maps of the resulting information; • Researches, develops and establishes methods to improve and streamline map production • Participates in the design and building of tools and automations. • Provides advanced reports based on geospatial analysis o Utilizes this data to discover data anomalies to drive improvement projects • Maintains quality control for information entered into the GIS system and for existing map products • Help Desk o Manages help desk inflow from end users o Responsible for Tier 2 & 3 Outages Training Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Strong problem-solving, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task • Have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures • Must have the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision • Must have knowledge of various analysis tools on ArcGIS/QGIS. • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD • Knowledge of Various GIS data conversion tools. Education: Bachelors degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Urban Planning, Computer Science or a related field Experience: • One year of relevant prior experience; Experience with GIS software, including ESRIs ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro • GIS, Mapping experience
