Project Details Girl Rising’s project in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh will focus on building self-confidence, voice and aspiration of 2000 adolescents with the goal of achieving long-term outcomes like reduced early pregnancies/marriages, preventing school dropouts, and increasing access to higher education and career development. Project Implementation Design The project is designed to empower adolescents and encourage stakeholders like parents, teachers and community members to create a favorable environment for adolescents to thrive. It will be implemented in partnership with a credible community-based organization, Samarpit, who not only has a good understanding of the state, but has also worked closely with communities for the last few decades. A holistic curriculum, developed based on Girl Rising’s decade of experience, will be delivered in government schools with the support of teachers and school administration. This curriculum will cover critical themes, including digital literacy, financial literacy, social-emotional learning, storytelling, gender sensitization and climate action. In addition to this, sessions will be conducted with parents of these adolescents to build their awareness on similar topics so that adolescents also have access to a supportive environment at home. Project Evaluation Design To measure the curriculum and the project’s effectiveness and impact, Girl Rising will also conduct pre- and post-assessments, building evidence of behavioural and attitudinal changes among adolescents, parents, and teachers. Baseline: Quantitative assessments will be conducted with 300-350 adolescent girls and boys between grades 8 - 11 and 40 male and female teachers. Endline: Quantitative assessments will be conducted with the same group of adolescents and teachers, along with qualitative assessments (in-depth interviews and focus group discussions) involving parents, teachers, and adolescents. Scope of Work Key Responsibilities The Data Collector will conduct the Baseline assessments with adolescent girls and boys in-person in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, in collaboration with the Samarpit and Girl Rising Teams between July 1 - 13, 2025. Participate in a virtual Data Collector Training conducted by Girl Rising to understand survey administration and data coding, entry, and reporting requirements. Review all relevant program documents and data collection tools prior to the training Create master sheets for all survey participants (students and teachers) with unique coding (This will be discussed during the training) Each Data Collector will be required to conduct in-person quantitative assessments (surveys) with ~120 adolescents Clean and enter the student survey data, and organize the information in the coded data entry Excel files shared by Girl Rising. Submit the completed Excel files with coded data entry by the agreed-upon deadline. Submit the hard copies of the filled student survey forms in Hindi to the Girl Rising team. The baseline survey with teachers will be conducted by Girl Rising staff at the end of the teacher training. Job type: Full-time Reporting to: Director of Program Quality and Learning Program Unit: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Position Summary The Research Manager will serve as a key member of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team, working collaboratively with program staff to collect, analyze, and manage the quality of GR program data from multiple countries and conduct in-house research. Since the culture of in-house research and centralized data management is evolving in Girl Rising, this role requires ongoing capacity building of team members who are continuing to learn and adapt. A majority of program team members work remotely in different parts of the world. Responsibilities Research Plan, coordinate, and conduct primary and secondary research and program evaluation activities for Girl Rising programs Use research expertise to design and execute research projects, including the development of appropriate research designs and strategies for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Design and develop surveys and focus groups; work with program team members to define research goals and project scope, and translate these into questionnaire items for surveys or protocols for focus groups. Assess data across programs and identify quantitative and qualitative research opportunities to allow evidence-based and data-informed programming.
