As a qualified candidate for this position, you should hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering along with an M.E./M.Tech specialization in Transportation or Highway Engineering. Your role will involve demonstrating expertise in geometric design for urban roads, national highways, and state highways, with a strong preference for detailed design experience. Additionally, you will be expected to have proficiency in pavement and drainage design, along with a thorough understanding of design codes such as IRC and AASHTO. Your knowledge should encompass the analysis and design principles specific to highways, as well as familiarity with various highway-related surveys and investigations. In this role, you will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to preparing Bill of Quantities for pre-bid studies, using software tools like Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Your hands-on experience with these software applications will be crucial. Key Responsibilities: Carry out geometric and alignment design of highways and roads using software such as MX Road, OpenRoads, or Civil 3D in accordance with relevant standards and client requirements. Design junctions/intersections including layouts and capacity analysis. Prepare signage and road marking plans as per applicable codes and guidelines. Develop drainage designs for highways and associated infrastructure. Generate miscellaneous design drawings and reports required during project execution. Contribute to the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and detailed design submissions. Coordinate with other disciplines, consultants, and client representatives to ensure timely and accurate delivery of designs. Ensure adherence to quality standards, design codes, and best practices throughout the design process. Review contractor/consultant submissions and provide technical feedback as necessary. Preferred candidate profile Proficiency in highway design software such as MX Road, OpenRoads, and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D. Strong understanding of IRC, MoRTH, AASHTO or equivalent design standards. Sound knowledge of highway drainage, pavement design concepts, and road safety principles. Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
