As a Geohazard and Geospatial professional at WSP India, you will collaborate closely with Geotechnical, Geology, and Risk & Resilience teams on global projects. The ideal candidate for this role should have prior experience in Transport and Civil Infrastructure sectors, particularly in quantitative risk assessment of geo-hazards using geospatial data and tools. A strong educational background in GIS, Geology, or Geohazards along with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience is expected. Your responsibilities will include gathering spatial data for various resilience projects, managing databases, analyzing data to derive insights, and creating spatial maps following best cartography practices. You will utilize programming for generating spatial outputs and presenting data through web portals. It is essential to stay updated on technical standards, legislation, and industry best practices in GIS while ensuring timely completion of assignments within budget. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams is crucial. Integrate technical inputs from peers to achieve project objectives and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment. Uphold confidentiality and ethical work practices at all times. Desired skills for this role encompass proficiency in cartography, 3D data visualization, ArcGIS or qGIS, ESRI suite of software, data management, analytical capabilities, and familiarity with python scripting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for effective presentation and collaboration across different platforms and audiences. The software proficiencies required include hands-on experience in GIS tools, particularly ESRI ArcGIS (desktop and online), and coding skills in Python, JavaScript, SQL, R, HTML/CSS, C++/C#. Experience with quantitative Risk Assessment tools such as @Risk and Frontline Solver is advantageous. Qualifications for this role include an MSc or MTech in Geology, Geo-Hazards, or Geotechnical Engineering with a PG Diploma in Geographic Information System. Alternatively, an MSc or MTech in Remote Sensing & Geographic Information System with a BSc or BTech in Geology, Earth Science, or Geoscience domains is acceptable. Membership in a relevant international professional body is preferred. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on professional experience, with a background in global consulting organizations being advantageous.,
