Engineer, Sr within the Component Engineering Group, Center of Excellence Group in LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology) organization Job Responsibilities Identify and perform alternate/replacement/ qualify second sources by qualification, testing and validation of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical parts on basis of Form Fit Functional Initiate and lead efforts to identify and for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement Validates designs through hand calculations / prototypes to support engineering decisions Define strategy for design changes in collaboration with NPI engineers via design reviews and DFMEA Liaise with Manufacturing and supply chain and work on Component related problem reports in solving and implementing Provide resolution to medium complex design issues Upholding the application of Preferred Parts List Mandatory Skills Understanding of Electrical/ Electromechanical components such as Passive, Discrete, Integrated circuits, Connectors, Cables, Fuses, Relays, Switches, RF generators, Sensors, Adapters/Filters, Cable Assemblies and all other PCBA Components etc Proficient in Electrical components specification and their application Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e g ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, ) Review and interpret component data sheets and its significance on product performance Proficient in translating design requirements into parameters for OEM component selection Understanding of Electrical schematic, PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
