As an Assistant Professor in Microbiology, you will be responsible for imparting knowledge and practical skills to MBBS students. Your core teaching responsibilities will include educating students on the principles and applications of General Microbiology through practical sessions, assessments, and the creation of teaching materials. Moreover, you will actively contribute to the functioning of the Microbiology laboratory by supporting various activities such as media preparation, specimen collection protocols, and quality control initiatives. In addition to your teaching and lab involvement, you will be expected to assist in departmental research projects, data analysis, and manuscript writing. Your role will also involve participating in hospital infection control activities, monitoring hospital-acquired infections, and contributing to quality control initiatives. Furthermore, you will support the Head of Department in administrative tasks such as maintaining academic records, preparing for inspections, and coordinating departmental seminars and guest lectures. To excel in this role, you should possess sound knowledge of clinical microbiology, excellent communication and teaching skills, and proficiency in lab-based techniques and digital tools. Your willingness to engage in curriculum development, continuous learning, and student mentoring will be crucial for your success in this position.
